Emil A. Marx, 81, of Rosewood Estates died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

Emil was born August 26, 1922 in Hamburg Germany, the son of Emil R. and Irene Dorothea Wulfken Marx.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He attended the University of Illinois. He married Barbara J. Farrar June 26, 1948 in Moline, IL. He married Corinne E. Gardner March 15, 1975 in Waterloo. She died April 26, 1986.

Emil was an Architectural Engineer for the John Deere Component Works for 321/2 years retiring February 1, 1978. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Waterloo BPO Elks # 290.

He is survived by his daughter Christine Smith and her husband Kelly of North Bend, Washington; three grandchildren Kelly J. Smith Jr. of Snoqualmie, Washington; Ryan C. Smith of Mesa, Arizona; and Katherine A. Hunter of Kennewick, Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
