EVANSDALE - Brenda C. Hardee, 59, of Evansdale, died at home Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, after a long illness.

She was born Feb. 15, 1949, in Tilton, Ark., daughter of Famous and Rose Schaffer Immel. She married Steve Hardee, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hardee worked in the factory at Matt Parrott and Sons for 28 years.

Survived by her life partner, Michael Higuera; a son, Bill Sires of Waterloo; two daughters, Lisa Kiewiet of Evansdale and Stephanie (Travis) Kneeskern of Iowa City; three grandchildren; her mother, Rose Reams of Waterloo; a brother, Billy Reams of Waterloo; and three sisters, Linda Sebetka and Debbie Lawless, both of Evansdale, and Freda Parkhouse of Waterloo.

Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from noon until services Thursday at the funeral home.
