CEDAR FALLS - Rev. Darwin G. Reiter, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 4, 1934, in Westview, son of Henry E. and Margaret E. Ackerman Reiter. He married Judy Kay Cordes on Aug. 6, 1994, in Cedar Falls.

The Rev. Reiter graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1952, Luther College in Decorah in 1956, and received his Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., in 1960. He later received his master's degree in sociology and counseling from the University of South Dakota in 1969 and participated in the Pastoral Clinical Education Program at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. He served as assistant pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, pastor at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Ackley, Salem Lutheran Church in rural Parkersburg, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard and as interim pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thornton and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Minn.

Survived by his wife; three stepchildren, Paul LeBahn of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Patti (Troy) Mehmen of Denver and Jon (Carrie) LeBahn of New Hartford; five stepgrandchildren, Derrick Mehmen, Traci Bahrenfuse, Renee Reeves, Zachary LeBahn and Amber LeBahn; five great-grandchildren, Ameliya, Tyler, Carter, Everett, Emrie, with one on the way, Bentley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls or Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.
