Delphine Virginia Delagardelle, 95, of Jesup, died at home Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014.

She was born July 30, 1919, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Mary Dora Sawyer Phillips. She married Edwin “Eddie” Delagardelle on April 16, 1955, in Waterloo; he died July 12, 1988.

Delphine graduated from O.L.V.A. High School in 1937, and was employed for 15 years with Mid Continent DX as a secretary.

Survived by three daughters, Carol (Bruce) Jordan of Jesup, Sue (Kevin) Davis, of La Porte City and Janet (Doug) Reiter of Jesup; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernadette Kehoe of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Elwin Phillips.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be rosaries at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, the Bosco System or the family.
