WATERLOO - Tim Day, 57, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, June 29, 2008, of heart arrhythmia.

He was born Nov. 17, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Charles E. and Delores Thompson Day. He married Vickie Marshall Petersen on May 14, 1991, in Waterloo.

Mr. Day graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1969 and from the tool and die program at Hawkeye Community College. He was employed as a supervisor and in quality control at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He also had served in the Iowa National Guard as a helicopter repairman.

Survived by his wife; his mother of Waterloo; a brother, Larry (Kay) of Clear Lake; a stepdaughter, Kelly (Allen) Dunegan of Evansdale; and two stepgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by his father.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with military rites by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
