WATERLOO - Mildred E. "Millie" Reed, 89, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls.

She was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Garwin, daughter of Gus and Biene Lietz Schade. She married Charles F. Reed on June 7, 1941, in Kansas City. He died Feb. 15, 1999.

Mrs. Reed graduated from Garwin High School in 1938 and had worked as a clerk at the Big T Grocery Store, Dunkle's Market, and for many years at Hy-Vee.

Survived by a son, Richard (Donna) of Lansing; two daughters, Carol (Jim) Christensen of Waterloo and Linda (James) Andersen of Windsor, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorna (Robert) Ochs of Garwin.

Preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
