WATERLOO - Dale Dixon, 93, of ManorCare Health Services, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at ManorCare of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Rockwell City, son of Royal B. and Matilda Krieger Dixon. He married Mary Elaine Sullivan on Feb. 22, 1941, in Waterloo. She died Oct. 19, 2006.

He graduated from Webster City High School and AIB College of Business in Des Moines. Mr. Dixon had been employed at Rath Packing Co., Hughes Aircraft in California, Titus Manufacturing, Chamberlain Manufacturing Co., Allis Chalmers, and retired from Universal Industries in 1980.

Survived by three sons, Bill of Cedar Rapids, Bob (Becky) of Waterloo and Dick of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Bob of Waterloo; three granddaughters, Kimberly of Cedar Falls, and Raina Beth and Breanna of Tucson; and two great-grandsons, Ethan and Eli of Tucson.

Preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary Elaine.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice.
