WATERLOO - Dorothy E. “Dody” Schneider, 97, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Waterloo, daughter of Philip and Josephine Klein Beck. She married Carl W. Schneider on Jan. 31, 1940, at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eagle Center; he died Sept. 19, 1977.

Dody was self-employed.

Survived by two sons, Stan (Linda) of Cedar Falls and William (Nancy) of Waterloo; two daughters, Sue (Wayne) Wessels of Middleton, Wis., and Jean Huffman of Madison, Wis.; 10 grandchildren, Mike (Dawn) Schneider, Steve (Kathy) Schneider, Julie (Rob) Leskun, Bill (Cassie) Wessels, Brad Wessels, Jason Wessels, Calista (Christopher) Horan, Shondri (Louis) Lim, Laura Huffman and Renee Huffman; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Glady Maas of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Ann Schneider; a great-granddaughter, Nelana Dori Nebil; and a granddaughter-in-law, Tina Wessels.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, with burial in church cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
