Kathleen M. (Kathy) Karkosh, 54, of Hudson, IA, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center from complications of a lengthy illness.

Kathy was born November 7, 1949 in Independence, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Miriam (Orth) Frush. She married Joseph Karkosh Jr. on April 12, 1980 at the American Lutheran Church in Jesup, Iowa.

Kathy graduated from Jesup Community High School in 1968 and later from Wartburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Music. She worked as an Assistant at the Grand Junction Recording Studio in Waterloo, IA and was also an organist and Choir Director at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Hudson, IA. She was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church and a board member of the Hudson Music Boosters.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Joe; three sons, David, Michael and Steven of Hudson, Iowa; mother, Miriam of Jesup, Iowa; and brother, Randy Frush of Jesup, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her father and infant brother, Devere.
