CEDAR FALLS - Juanita L. Flanscha, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Waterloo, daughter of Arthur and Lydia Garland Wolf. She married Marcus “Mike” Flanscha on May 15, 1953, in Waterloo; he died Sept. 27, 1994.

Juanita graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and from Waterloo East High School in 1946. She was a color artist at Black's Photo Studio, then was a jewelry designer at Deyo & Company Jewelry Manufacturing. Later she worked at Asquith Jewelry, which she and her husband purchased in 1978, and she worked there until the store closed in 1997.

Survived by two sons, Michael “Mike” (Karan) and Mark (Jean Ann), both of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Laurie (Drew) Rogers of Greene; six grandchildren, Jake (Jaime) Flanscha, Nick Flanscha, Maria (Lyle) Mathers, Mark (Kimberly) Rogers, Megan (Sam) Pape and Michael Flanscha; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Chrysta Wolf of Waterloo; and two “granddaughters” who were foreign exchange students, Corinne Schaefli of Steg, Switzerland, and Christina Bogacz of Dresden, Germany.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilbur, Donald and Dick Wolf; two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Maranda Rogers; and two sisters-in-law, Mary and Dorothy Wolf.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at College Hill Lutheran Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to College Hill Lutheran Church and Student Center or Valley Lutheran School in Cedar Falls.
