WATERLOO - Barbara G. Swinehart, 79, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born June 8, 1929, in Waterloo, daughter of Earl C. and Dorothy Crowell Glasson. She married John D. "Jack" Swinehart on May 21, 1949, in Waterloo.

She graduated from East High School and attended Linwood College, St. Charles, Mo. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter KS.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Paul (Robyn) of Cedar Rapids, David (Sue) of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jeff (Cheryl) of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Gilbert F. (Janice) Glasson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Roger E. Glasson

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Chapel, Memorial Park Cemetery, with burial following cremation in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
