WATERLOO - Jon Arnold, 65, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, died June 16, 2014 at home.

He was born Aug. 23, 1942, in Iowa Falls, son of Stanley and Marie Sweet Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was a survey technician in Cedar Rapids and had been a lifelong musician. He had recently retired from RBF Consulting, where he had worked for 11 years.

Survived by two daughters, Christina George of Chicago and Trisha Ender of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters; his aunt, Peggy Arnold of Mesa; two cousins, Clayt Arnold of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sandy Gregory of Mesa, Ariz.; and a nephew, Mike Arnold of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry; and an uncle, Clayton Arnold.

Graveside services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Jon was a kind-hearted man, always willing to strike up conversations with anyone. He loved music, particularly Sinatra and music of that era, and was a devotee of old-time radio and movies.
