LA PORTE CITY - Wilma E. Marshall, 95, of La Porte City, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Buchanan County, daughter of Edward W. and Amanda Benorden Jesse. She married James A. Marshall on July 11, 1937, at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo; he died May 24, 2003

Wilma had worked for Foss Produce, Evergreen Hatchery, Thompson Grocery and the Canning Factory. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, La Porte City.

Survived by a daughter, Patricia (Dallas) Kray of Story City; a granddaughter, Tammie (John) Ollendick of Grimes; two great-grandchildren, Zeb Ollendick of Urbandale and Zoe Ollendick of Grimes; two brothers, Willard (Lois) Jesse and Leland Jesse, both of La Porte City; and a sister, Margaret (Dr. Richard) Brust of Monmouth, Ore.

Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Melvin in infancy, Raymond, Russell, Virden and Edward Jesse; and two sisters, Florence McDonald and Winona “Nonie” Fehl.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. La Porte City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
