EVANSDALE - Robert Leroy "Bob" Moran, 68, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of lung cancer.

He was born May 2, 1941, in Waterloo, son of Roy G. Sr. and Grace E. Brown Moran. He married Deloris Davis in 1963, and they were divorced. He married Judith A. "Judy" Schons on Dec. 31, 1985, in Waterloo.

Mr. Moran was employed at John Deere & Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He has been employed part time for the past 12 years at Miller & Sons. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a lifetime member of the Evansdale AMVETS.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Michael A. (Karla) Moran of Mount Vernon and Torey M.H. Huegli of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Merrilee A. (Neil) Giegerich-Steen of Mount Vernon, Wendy R. Huegli of Morrisville, N.C., and Shannon D. (Jeff) Rose of Auburn, Ala.; a brother, Roy G. Jr. (Betty) of Elk Run Heights; and eight grandchildren, Molly, Albert and Hanna Giegerich, Grace, Zachary and Lucas Moran, and Jacob and Justin Rose.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Delbert in infancy; and four sisters, Lois (Dick) See, Delores J. Hild, Carol A. (Kenny) Chounrad and Norma E. (Jerry) Phillips.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
