CEDAR FALLS - Claud R. Reindl, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Sartori Memorial Hospital from complications of pneumonia.

He was born Sept. 5, 1920, on the family farm southeast of Manly, son of John and Gustie Wise Reindl. He married Joan Wilson on June 30, 1941, in Mason City.

Mr. Reindl worked as a lab supervisor at John Deere PEC, retiring in 1981 after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a seaman 1st Class, and he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Judy (Dennis) Bohan of Arvada, Colo., and Cheri (Mark) Morrissey of Spokane, Wash.; two sons, Jim (Cathy) and John (Lisa), both of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren, Jan Bohan, Tim (Shannon) Bohan, Nicki (Craig) Baumer, Breanne and Lindsey Reindl, Dave (Carrie) Morrissey, Michele (Steve Schneider) Morrissey, Brenda (Davin) Graham and Libby and Natalie Reindl; and four great-grandchildren, Spencer and Gracie Bohan and Mia and Shea Morrissey.

Preceded in death by nine brothers, Leonard, Lewis, Lawrence, Glen, Frank, Harley, Ivan, Walter and Gerald.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Western Home Communities.
