WATERLOO - Kathleen R. Thome, 65, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

She was born Feb. 22, 1944, in Austin, Minn., daughter of Bernard and Evelyn Viring Majerus. She married Dale J. Thome on July 11, 1964, in Austin.

Survived by her husband; three daughters, Kim (Brian) Machino of Sturgis, S.D., Dawn (Lino) Bernal of Des Moines and Ellyn (Todd) Perkins of Oelwein; two sons, Scott (Paula) of Waterloo and Brian (Chris) of Reinbeck; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adrian (Donna) Majerus of Franklin, N.C., and Maynard (Karen) Majerus of Albert Lea, Minn.; and three sisters, Marleen (Al) Salo of Lutz, Fla., Joyce (Chuck) Benner of Austin and Renee Bure of Albert Lea.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with family burial at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and many other church activities. She enjoyed many arts and crafts and her dogs.
