Paul R. Brasch, 89, of Waterloo died Sunday June 8, 2008, at Friendship Village Med Ctr.

He was born April 21, 1919, in Dunkerton, son of Alvin E. and Pearl Belle Norman Brasch. He married Lucille Jo Mensch August 13, 1944 in the Rose Garden at the Iowa State University in Ames. He was a 1942 graduate of Iowa State University and served as secretary of the Iowa State Dairy Association.

He was a Rath Land of Corn reporter for 8 years and was a realtor and appraiser for 40 years retiring in 1997. He helped establish the Cedar Valley Historical Society in 1996. Hes been a member of the Waterloo Elks Club for 50 years and the YMCA for 40 years a long time member of the Waterloo Toastmaster Club, serving as the district governor and international director. He was also president of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 1967. He was a long time member and past president of the Waterloo Kiwanis Club, No Name Club, Associated Investors, and the Martini Club.

Survivors include his wife Lucille Jo, two sons, Joel of Dunkerton and Judd (Cynthia) of Minneapolis, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Preceded by his parents two daughters Janeen Seehase and Jennifer Stark, an infant son Jim, and two brothers Robert and John.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Fairview Cemetery Dunkerton. Public visitation will be from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Dunkerton Public Library.
