WATERLOO - Ronald W. Lekar, 54, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.

He was born Oct. 2, 1959, in St. Louis, son of John Sr. and Marianne Bauer Lekar. He married Carrie Tietjens on Aug. 4, 1979, in Waterloo.

A veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, Ron was employed with UPS for 28 years, retiring in 2013.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Kori Lekar of Cedar Falls and Ashley Lekar of Waterloo; a son, Jared of Waterloo; his mother of Waterloo; a brother, John Jr. (Sandi) of Oregon City, Ore.; a sister, Kellyann (Steve) Trost of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Lekar and Lori Kutz, both of Waterloo; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Mary) Tietjens of Pasadena, Texas, and Dan Tietjens of Waterloo; his mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Tietjens of Waterloo; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Thomas.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with an 8 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.
