WATERLOO - Shirley N. Lindsey, 72, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born March 9, 1933, in Independence, daughter of Ralph and Myrtle Brimmer Fowlkes. She married James N. Lindsey on Sept. 22, 1956, in Omaha, Neb. He died Dec. 30, 1992.

Survivors include four sons, Terry (Pam) Morris and Jimmy (Lori) Morris, both of Waterloo, Mark (Laura) Lindsey of Evansville, Ind., and Kevin (Sue) Lindsey of Council Bluffs; two daughters, Vickie (Dan Sr.) Goodin and Deb (Tony) Mervin, both of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph (Patsy) Fowlkes Jr. of Evansdale and Doug (Gloria) Fowlkes of Columbia, Mo.; and a sister, Diane (Jim) Johnson of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Morrow; and a grandson.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Saturday at the chapel.
