WATERLOO - Margaret Esther Woodard, 86, of Waterloo, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Austin, Minn., daughter of James and Ada Snyder Nelson Sr. She married Lawrence Lee "Mick" Woodard on Sept. 1, 1940, in Waterloo. He died Jan. 23, 2002.

Mrs. Woodard worked in real estate for 13 years until retiring.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Carol) and Mark, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Barbara (Loren) Swanson of Brownsdale, Minn.; a stepson, Larry (Sandra) Woodard of Overland Park, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Stephen; and a brother, James Nelson Jr.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. The casket will be closed.
