Paul Robert Heth Jr., 93, of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, formerly of Jesup, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at the Western Home following a brief illness.

He was born July 15, 1912, near Fairbank, in Buchanan County, son of Paul Robert Heth Sr. and Emma Katrina Hartman. He married Ruby Esther Rachuy May 13, 1937, at the Lutheran parsonage in Galena, Ill.

Mr. Heth retired in 1974 from Deere and Co., Waterloo, after more than 33 years of service. He served as mayor of Jesup from 1968 to 1970 and served as a councilman in Jesup for six years.

Survived by his wife of the Cedar Falls Western Home; four sons, Robert (Hazle) of Thompson Falls, Mont., Ronald (Janice) of Cedar Falls, Richard "Rick" (Sue) of Elk Run Heights and Randy (Tina) of Bellevue, Neb.; four daughters, Carolyn Walker and Pamela (Richard) Trumbauer, both of Jesup, Verla Neuendorf of Logansport, Ind., and Patricia (Larry) Balster of Cedar Rapids; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Velda Haldeman of Jesup.

Preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; four brothers, Arnold, Clemens, Esra and Walter; and a sister, Eileen Eckheart.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery, both in Jesup. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home, Jesup. The casket will not be open before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Western Home, Cedar Falls.
