WATERLOO - Mary Belle Montgomery, 96, of Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of 1039 Sunrise Blvd., died Vat the center Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005.

She was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Hall County, Grand Island, Neb., daughter of Oliver Denton and Evelyn Grace Guiou Wright. She married Paul Rothwell Montgomery on Aug. 3, 1930, in Grand Island. He died March 17, 1983.

Mrs. Montgomery was a published poet in her early years.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. John (Dr. Janey) Montgomery of Waterloo and James (Aurora) of Oakdale, Calif.; a daughter, Patricia Lee O'Brien of Goodland, Kan.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Jean Paul; a sister, Marjorie Evelyn Wright; and a grandson.

Services: are planned for later this week at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, with burial in Goodland Cemetery, both in Goodland, Texas. Visitation will be at the Bateman Funeral Home, Goodland. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of local arrangements.
