Carol Ott Lentz, 75, of Brooklyn died Oct. 3, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, at Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls, with Pastor Homer Larsen, retired, officiating. Soloist will be Chandar Boyle. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor and where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

The daughter of Randolph and Bernice Weeks Hutchinson, she was born May 16, 1931, in Vinton, Iowa and was raised and educated in Chicago. She later received a B.A. degree at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She was married to Robert John Ott in September of 1950 in Waterloo and the couple made their home in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area. Following the death of her husband in 1968, she was married to Mark Lentz on May 16, 1969, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waterloo. The couple moved to Holiday Lake near Brooklyn in 1979 and they have wintered in Port Richey, Fla., for many years. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Port Richey and the Columbian Club in Brooklyn. She had taught confirmation classes at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Port Richey and at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, and was active in the church choir. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Mark of Holiday Lake, near Brooklyn, Iowa; four children, Mike (Deb) Ott of Delhi, Iowa, Karen (Paul) James of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (Chris) Ott of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and Laurie (Rod) Rose of Cedar Falls; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Ott; and one son, Steven Wayne Ott.
