CEDAR FALLS - Verda Jean Maag, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Frederika, daughter of Ray and Ruby Whitman O'Rourke. She married Warren G. Maag June 29, 1947, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death March 1, 1998.

Survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Kent) Anderson and Suzette (Richard) Fisher, both of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Kory) Schmidt, Joel Anderson, Ben (Crystal) Anderson, Emily Anderson, Shawn (Mindy) Fisher, Adam Fisher and Jeff Fisher; and three great-grandchildren, Austin and Alex Schmidt and Noah Anderson.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter; and a grandson.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
