WATERLOO - Norman "Jim" Brimmer, 72, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at his home.

He was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Iowa Falls, son of Willard and Paulina Tyler Brimmer. He married Lois J. Patton Aug. 11, 1956, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence.

He graduated from St. John's High School in Independence in 1953. Mr. Brimmer was an agent for New York Life Insurance for 20 years and later employed with Quality Drive Away for 10 years, retiring in 2005.

Survived by his wife; five sons, Kevin J. (Joi) of Gilbertville, Kraig W. (Jamie) of Fresno, Calif., Kory J. (Ed Hall) of Dallas, Kelly G. (Mary) of Shakopee, Minn., and Kyron J. (Michelle) of Encinitas, Calif.; a daughter, Cherise A. (Glen) Oswald of Queen Creek, Ariz.; a special aunt, Margarite Bowers of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with inurnment in St. John's Cemetery, Independence, at a later date. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
