WATERLOO - Jed David Nelson, 37, of Crosby, N.D., formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Minot Memorial Hospital in Minot, N.D.

He was born April 2, 1977, in Kansas City, Mo., son of Tim and Sally Nelson.

Jed attended Oak Park High School, Kansas City, Mo., and worked as a truck driver in the North Dakota oil fields.

Survived by his father and stepmother, Tim (Vickie) Nelson of Warsaw, Mo.; his mother, Sally Nelson (Sammy George) of Mesquite, Texas; paternal grandmother, Jean Nelson of Waterloo; four aunts, The Rev. Carol (Toby) Teare and Kathy Nelson, both of Waterloo, Kay Crawford of Mesquite and Roberta (Berry Sr.) Kelle of Raymore, Mo.; two uncles, Philip (Patty) Gustafson of Little Rock, Ark., and Carl Jr. (Peggy) Davenport of Belton, Mo.; and a great-uncle, Dick Anderson of Waterloo

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Nelson and Wesley and Elizabeth Gustafson; and his uncle, John Nelson.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be for an hour before the service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Arbor Day Foundation.
