CEDAR FALLS - Lloyd H. Plakke, 95, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Spring Lake, Mich., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

He was born May 3, 1919, in Holland, Mich., son of Henry and Henrietta Leeuwen Plakke. He married Adeline Wolf on Aug. 22, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Lloyd was a metal finisher at Challenge Porcelain, Grand Haven, Mich.

Survived by his wife; a son, Bruce (Linda) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Brenda (Gary) Lettengarver of Laguna Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry; and three sisters, Irene Van Duesen, Vera Atman and Cornelia Plakke.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Western Home Communities Chapel, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, at a later date. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is assisting the family.
