WATERLOO - Lester Steveon Tyler, 50, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of cancer.

He was born April 17, 1958, in Waterloo, son of Leonard E. and Helen E. Frickson Tyler. He married Denise Atzen on May 13, 1983, in Waterloo.

Mr. Tyler was a truck driver in the Waterloo area, then later moved to Arlington, Texas.

Survived by his mother of Waterloo; his wife; four sons, Jeremy (Taylor), Mark (Holley), Lester (Connie) and David (Deanna), all of Arlington; two daughters, Cherrie (Jason) Tovar of Arlington and Jennie Tyler of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; five brothers, Mike Tyler, Russell (Teri) Tyler, Robert Tyler, Matt Tyler and Kurt Coburn, all of Waterloo; seven sisters, Debbie Tyler-Plunkett, Carlah (Jim) Apfel, Mildred (Bobby) Rinnels, Tammy Tangen, Violette Tyler (Scott Reavis), LaRissa (Billy) Deeds and Beth Amo, all of Waterloo; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sandy Kezar of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Allen; his father; three brothers, Jody, Richard and James; and a niece, Dani Marie.

Private family services have taken place.
