Richard "Dick" Andersen, 62, of Venice, Fla., died Dec. 22, 2008; formerly of Escondido, Calif., and Waterloo. When living in Waterloo, Dick worked at Andy's Plumbing & Heating as a journeyman plumber with two of his brothers. In Escondido, he owned his own company also called Andy's Plumbing. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

Survivors include wife, Jennifer of Venice; daughter, Michelle Wright of Spokane, Wash.; sons, Joshua of Prague, Czech Republic, and Shane of Valley Center, Calif.; brothers, Larry of La Porte City, Jim of Windsor, Colo., and Jack of Escondido; two grandchildren, Brittani and Austin of Spokane; and many, many friends who have shown great care.

Dick fought a battle with cancer three years ago only to have another attack diagnosed last June. He will always be remembered for his love of gardening and his big, quick smile.
