WATERLOO - Lois M. Yerkes, 82, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 4, 1926, in Vinton, daughter of Inez Lapham. She married Floyd P. Yerkes on Oct. 16, 1949, in Vinton. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Cedar Valley Community Church.

Survived by a son, Mike of Waterloo; and a grandson.

Preceded in death by a son, Harold "Pat"; and a grandson.

Memorial services will take place in the spring, with inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. There will be no visitation. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
