EVANSDALE - Linda Lou Kohls, 66, of Evansdale, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo, from a long battle with cancer.

She was born Jan. 3, 1948, in Madison, Wis., daughter of Raymond Heath and Hilda Mickelson Higdon. She married Greg Kohls at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo, on March 12, 1983.

Linda worked at Bertch Cabinets for 20 years, retiring after her illness. After retirement, she was a homemaker and took care of her family.

Survived by her husband; a son, Tim (Robin) McNally of Evansdale; two daughters, Annette “Amy” (Dawn) McNally of Urbana and Kim (Chris) Sheetz-Cook of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Kim (Mike Tovar) Cole of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Dylan and Dakota McNally, Shyanne and Savanna McNally, Isiah and Aleah Cook; four stepgrandchildren, Rachel Cole, Whitney McGrane, Kassidy Tovar and Garrett Simonsen; a great-grandson, Isiah Cook, Jr.; her mother of Evansdale; two brothers, Bill (Cheryl) Heath of Waterloo and John (Amy) Higdon of Center Point; and four sisters, Joyce Heth and Brenda (Jerry) Lange, both of Waterloo, Pat Heun of Moline and Carol (Jerry) Alston of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by her father; a stepgrandson, Cory Tovar; a nephew, Chad Lange; and a niece, Missy Higdon.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, with burial at a later date. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Linda enjoyed shopping, dining out, vacationing with her sisters, cooking and baking. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
