WATERLOO - Darlene Frances Katz, 92, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Winthrop, daughter of Harold and Bertha Miller Kimball. She married Joe Katz on Dec. 24, 1940, in Waterloo; he died May 9, 2009.

Darlene graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1940.

Survived by a daughter, Pat Thode of Cedar Falls; two grandsons; and three great-granddaughters, Erin, Jane and Annie.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Dale "Doc" and DeWayne Kimball; and a sister, Dorothy Kimball.

No services are planned at this time. Her body has been cremated. Arrangements were made by Locke Funeral Home.
