WATERLOO - Edwin S. Ed Jacobs, 70, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 8, 1935, in Des Moines, son of Simon E. and Yula M. Phillips Jacobs. He married Julie Morgan on Aug. 6, 1954, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

He graduated from West High School and had been in real estate, owning and operating Value Homes for many years. He more recently owned and operated Jacobs Appraisal Service.

Survived by his wife; four sons, Jon (Shelly) of Evansdale, Ed (Marcia) and Steve, both of Waterloo, and Todd of Jesup; five daughters, Sheryl Larsen (Al Larsen of Knoxville), Debbie (Bill) Wygle, Angela Jacobs, Amy Jacobs and Jenny Jacobs, all of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two infant daughters, Penny and Carrie; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
