WATERLOO - Virginia H. McNabb, 80, of Lancaster, Pa., formerly of Waterloo, died Oct. 4, 2005 after a brief illness.

She was born June 7, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of Henry B. and Doris B. West Haffa. She married John W. McNabb in 1945, in San Francisco. He preceded her in death in 1975.

She was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and Iowa State Teachers College. She taught school in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., as a primary and kindergarten teacher for five years.

Mrs. McNabb and her husband founded John W. McNabb Laboratories Inc., where she served as vice president, secretary/treasurer and president.

Survived by a son, John Kim McNabb of Lancaster; a daughter, Jill A. (Jeff) Friedman of Windsor, N.J.; a granddaughter, Laura; a sister, Audrey Deardoff of Waterloo; and a brother, Henry W. Bill (Helen) Haffa of Heber, Ariz.

Memorial services were Oct. 8 at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Lancaster, with private burial preceding. Fred F. Groff Inc., funeral home, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
