WATERLOO - Edna M. Lohman, 89, of Friendship Village Retirement Center, formerly of Syracuse, N.Y., died at the center Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005.

She was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Syracuse, daughter of Thomas and Johanna Benning Applin. She married George Lohman in 1939 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Syracuse. He died in 1984.

Mrs. Lohman graduated from North High School, Syracuse, then from Syracuse Business School. She worked as a business manager at Traufott-Lohman Funeral Home. She was a member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Bev (Stan) McCadam of Waterloo and Carolyn (Terry) Smith of Rochester, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Scott (Kathleen) McCadam of Covington, La., Jennifer (Paul) Soderblom of Milwaukee, and Holly (Andrew) Van Fleet of Waterloo; four great-grandchildren, Connor and Reilly McCadam, Zoe Beth Soderblom and McCadam Van Fleet; and a sister, Ella Genska of Syracuse.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Schuyler and Bernard; and three sisters, Marion Applin, Esther Applin and Aleta Abbott.

Memorial services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo First United Methodist Church, with inurnment later in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, Phoenix, N.Y. The family will greet friends in the Fireside Room at the church following the memorial service. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Alzheimers Association.
