CEDAR FALLS - Jean H. Swenson, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services, Waterloo.

She was born May 16, 1925, in Hyde Park Township, Minn., daughter of George and Edith Roberson Nelson. She married Victor E. Swenson on June 18, 1946, in Lake City, Minn.; he died May 26, 1970.

Jean graduated from Plainview High School and attended Winona State for a year. She sold jewelry supplies for Lorraine Griffith and was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by two sons, Craig of Denver and Mark (Jan) of Waterloo; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: and a sister, Lois Gallash of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Preceded in death by two brothers, John and Fred “Fritz” Nelson; and two sisters, Georgia Southwick and May Nelson.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
