RAYMOND - Alfred G. Brant, 90, of Raymond, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Poplar, Minn., son of Glen and Olive Matthews Brant. He married Doris Chamberlain on April 14, 1946, in Pine River, Minn.; she died in 1963. He married Ruth Hurley on June 14, 1965, in Hudson.

Alfred worked for Rath Packing Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He attended Raymond United Methodist Church.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Dorothy (Jim) Lemons of Waterloo and Alice (Harold) Simengaard of Portland, N.D.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Dale (Charlotte) Hurley of Urbandale, Jimmy (Cathy) Hurley of Cameron Park, Calif., and Bill (Sheryl) Hurley of East Bethel, Minn.; a sister, Elva Amelung of Minnesota; a brother, Marvin (Chico) of Motley, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Leone Brant of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth.

At his request, no services are planned. His body has been cremated. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, assisted the family.
