EVANSDALE - Ronald F. May, 81, of Evansdale, died Saturday, July 19, at Covenant Medical Center emergency room, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Ames, son of Frank and Margaret Burgess May. He married Dolores E. Douglas on Aug. 3, 1950 in Adel.

Ronald graduated from Des Moines Tech and worked as a tool and die maker at various companies for 45 years, retiring in 1997.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Pamela (Lonnie) Barker and Deb (Rex) Coen, both of Waterloo, Cheryl (Jeff) Ersland of Evansdale and Susan (Gary) Hulme of Traer; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Margaret) May of Michigan; and a sister, Carol (Tim) Barnes of Omaha, Neb.

Preceded in death by a brother, James May.

Services: will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and continue for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
