WATERLOO - Stephen Lee "Stevie" Walton, 69, of 627 Stokes Drive, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born April 16, 1939, in Waterloo, son of Emory Walton and Constance Lewis Walton. He married Juanita "Niecey" Sayles Walton, and they were later divorced. He married Helen Jordan Walton. and they later divorced. He married Gloria Walton, and she preceded him in death.

He served in Vietnam Cuban Crisis from 1962-1964. Mr. Walton was employed by John Deere as factory worker, had other various jobs and worked with Senior Companion until illness.

Survived by his mother, Constance Lewis Brumfield; two sisters, Vicki (Rev. Dr. Floyd E.) Brown of Sioux City and Angelic Frost of Waterloo; six sons, Dominic Walton of Des Moines, Stephen Jr. (Michelly) Walton and Jeffrey (Vicky) Walton, both of San Antonio, Errol (Flor) Walton and Cory (Deanna) Walton, both of Indianapolis, and Cory Hudson of Minneapolis; five daughters, Stephanie Calhoun of Des Moines, Charmaine Toney-Atkins of Chicago, Dovie (Walter) Gary of Colonial Height, W.Va., Vandetta (Robert) McGoogan of Cameron, N.C., and Melissa Hudson of Minneapolis; 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a niece, Latasha; a host of nephews and friends; and a special friend, Marilyn Woods of Waterloo.

Preceded in death his wife, Gloria; his father; paternal and maternal grandparents; and uncles.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age.
