WATERLOO - Bernice Louise Wasserfort, 90, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, June 30, 2014, of congestive heart failure.

She was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Waterloo, daughter of Andrew and Jennie Linkvis Clark. She married Donald H. Wasserfort on April 25, 1943; he died in April 1991.

Bernice graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1941 and had worked at Rath Packing Co. for 32 years. She was a member of the Eagles Club.

Survived by a son, Larry D. (Joan K.) of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Sheri (Mark) Clayton of Pawpaw, Ill., and Lyle (Lena) Simmons of Waterloo; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Arlene Heidemann.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Our's Saviors Lutheran Church, 420 Harwood Ave., (note correct location of service), with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bernice enjoyed working at her church and will be remembered as a fantastic cook. She had a witty sense of humor and had many special friends. Most of all, Bernice loved her family dearly! She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
