WATERLOO - Helen K. Hild, 87, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Des Moines, daughter of John and Mary Considine Meaney. She married Thomas A. Hild on Oct. 29, 1960, in Waterloo.

Helen was employed in the office of John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by her husband; two brothers, John Meaney of Waterloo and Tom (Joyce) Meaney of Peosta; a sister, Patricia (James) Toale of Independence; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Meaney; and a nephew, Tim Toale.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Friendship Village Foundation, the church or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
