WATERLOO - Emmanuel “Mike” Michilides, 67, of Oelwein, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, June 29, 2014.

He was born June 6, 1947, in Des Moines, son of James and Anna George Michilides.

Mr. Michilides was a physician’s assistant at UnityPoint Family Medicine, Oelwein, for over 35 years. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era.

Survived by a sister, Karen (Dean) Van De Wiele of Kanawha; four nieces, Angela (Dallas) Johnson of Kanawha, Brenda Alberts of Cedar Rapids, Shelley (Bob) Doenhoefer of Lawton and Terri (Rich) Somsky of Kissimmee, Fla.; and eight great-nieces and nephews, Jackson, Claire and Carlie Johnson, Cody Alberts, Ben, Anna and Becca Dreessen, and Robby Doenhoefer.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Tasha Lang; and a niece, Tina Van De Wiele.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Demetrois’ Greek Orthodox Church, with private family burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Kearns Funeral Service on Kimball.
