WATERLOO - Shirley M. Pommer, 80, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Ogden, daughter of Albert Louis and Myrtle Almina Nesbitt Helphrey. She married Alvin L. Pommer May 3, 1941, in Grant City, Mo. He preceded her in death June 12, 1999.

Survived by two sons, Rodney and Darren (Kiona), both of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Connie (Craig) Fredrickson of Cedar Falls and Georgina (Thomas) Guyer and Lori (Darrell) Stueben, both of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a grandson; five brothers, two in infancy, and Arlie, Kenneth and Beryl Helphrey; and three sisters, Neola Bickel Melton, Leone Canon Kling and Wanda Tilton.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
