EVANSDALE - Joan E. Parker, 80, of Evansdale, died at home Friday, June 20, 2014.

She was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Mason City, daughter of John H. and Eva May Wright Trainer. She married Robert Dean “Bob” Parker on July 4, 1976, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2013.

Joan graduated from Charles City High School. She worked as a Realtor for 18 years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by several nieces and nephews, including Wendy (Jack) Trainer Rash of Raymond and Connie (Larry) Rasmussen of Cedar Falls and their families.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Keith Darrow; two brothers, Charles and Paul Trainer; and a sister, Catherine Sutton.

Committal services and burial: 11 a.m. Thursday at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel. There will be no visitation. Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel in in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Joan loved dogs, especially malamutes.
