WATERLOO - Diane Messenger, 62, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at home.

Diane was born March 7, 1952 in Clarinda, daughter of Fred and Gladys Miller Christensen. She married Keith Messenger of Ames on June 19, 1971, in College Springs.

Diane worked 18 years at GMAC Mortgage and 12 years at Dunakey, Klatt, Odekirk, Augustine, Sayer, Treinen & Rastede, P.C.

Survivors include her husband, Keith; a son, Ryan (Hallie and two grandsons, Jett and Cash) of Shawnee, Kan.; a daughter, Tamar (Jesse and grandson, Kamdon) of Waterloo; two sisters, Corrine (David) Williams of Villisca and Shirley Herzberg of Clarinda; a sister-in-law, Naomi Christensen of Council Bluffs; nine nieces and nephews; and 29 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bob Christensen; her sister, Janice Decker; her brother-in-law, Eldon Herzberg; and a nephew, Jay Herzberg.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the church after the burial service. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
