WATERLOO - Clifford George Butterfield, 95, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at NorthCrest Specialty Care.

He was born July 12, 1918, in Swea City, son of George and Ida Mae Countryman Butterfield. He married Florence Picht on May 21, 1938, in Swea City; she died June 26, 2011.

Clifford worked as a foreman in overseas construction and contracted to several different employers for 23 years, retiring in 1972. He also managed the River Hills Estates Campgrounds, Lynxville, Wis., for 10 years. He was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survived by two daughters, Georgia “Jorjan” Butterfield of Waterloo and Mary Jane (David) Willoughby of Hickory, N.C.; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Siemens and Marie Vaux; and four brothers, Hugh, Clyde, Stuart and Fred.

Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garden of Memories Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home Inc.
