EVANSDALE - Delight Frances Hartman, 77, of Apple Valley, Minn., formerly of Evansdale and Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Burnsville, Minn.

She was born July 30, 1936, in Independence, daughter of Charles and Bernice Foote. She married Ira "Junior" Hartman on June 12, 1954; he preceded her in death.

Delight graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1954 and was employed by the state of Iowa for more than 20 years before retiring.

Survived by two sons, Neal (Linda Ruhs) of Gilbertville and Kevin (Tina Zeiser) of Evansdale; a daughter, Kayla (Scott) Lathrop of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Mike) Beatty, Katrina (Scott) Hardy, Blake (Sara) Lathrop, Holly (Dave) Rice, Trent (Laurin) Lathrop, Lilly and Lexie Lathrop; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Beatty, Ashlynn Hale, Alan Beatty, Kyler Hardy, Triniti Lathrop, Alexis Rice, Auddi Lathrop, Zephaniah Lathrop and Jameson Rice; a sister, Charlotte Foss; and her close friend, Harold Roker.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Foote; and a great-granddaughter, Riley Rice.

Celebration of Life service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Open Bible Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation. She donated her body to the University of Minnesota for teaching and research.
