WATERLOO - Edwin H. Wenthe, 85, of Chandler, Ariz., died Sunday, June 1, 2014, in Chandler.

He was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Waterloo. He married Muriel Kinstler in 1954.

He graduated from East High School in Waterloo, and served in the Army in the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Waterloo his entire career. He then retired to Arizona with his wife, Muriel.

Survived by his wife; a son, Douglas (Mary); a daughter, Sue (Jerry) Shinn; six grandchildren, Lane, Lauren, Emily, Ben, Leah and Emma; and a great-grandchild, Aja.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; and a daughter, Sarah.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Chandler, with burial at a later date in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Legacy Funeral Home, Mesa, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.
