Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas, 79, of 216 Logan Ave., died at 8 a.m. Sunday at her home of a heart attack.

She was born March 14, 1886, in Gilbertville, the. daughter of August and Wilhelmina Falk Kurtz. She was married to Matthew Thomas in September of 1903 in Waterloo. Mrs. Thomas lived in this area all her life and moved to Waterloo 36 years ago where she was employed in the alteration department at Sweeney's.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

Survivors include one son, Lawrence, of Quimby; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Charles, 417 W. 5th St., Cedar Falls; Henry, Janesville, and Frank, 902 Mulberry St., and two sisters, Mrs. Michael Erpelding, Raymond, and Mrs. Casper Ortner, Independence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband and one sister.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Duane Brady officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Parish rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home and the Legion of St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The family rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday.
