WATERLOO -- Loris “Nadine” Smith, 78, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born March 24, 1936, in Rudy, Ark., daughter of Jasper and Alpha Richards Wood. She married Herbert G. Smith in 1967 in Waterloo; he died Friday, June 6, 2014.

Nadine was a graduate of Gates Business College and was an executive secretary at Black Hawk Publishing, later renamed Joe Kennedy and Associates.

Survived by two sons, Kevin (Deb) of Denver and Ryan (Stacy) of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Peyton, Megan, Connor, Alexis and Sterling Smith; and a sister, Hazel Renner of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and six sisters.

Joint services for Nadine and her husband will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Nadine loved visiting with family and friends, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and baking.
